Project: Design Build Wastewater Pre-Treatment Plant Additions- Phase II

Value: 1.2 Million

Process: BCI, in association with design-build partner GRW Engineers, Inc of Lexington, is constructing an expansion of the wastewater pre-treatment plant in Mt. Sterling, KY, for a food processing plant owned by Nestle. This expansion includes a Sequencing Batch Reactor to increase the capacity of the treatment facilities to 405,000 gallons per day (0.4 MGD). Improvements are also being made to upgrade the performance of an existing Dissolved Air Flotation Thickener by adding a surfactant system. The new facilities will be automatically controlled via a programmable control system to maximize effective energy use while producing a treated effluent that complies with Mt. Sterling’s discharge limits.
